Research
in Geographic Information Science is undertaken by faculty
with special interests in cartography, remote sensing,
spatial analysis, visualization, and geographic information
systems. At Oregon State University, there is an active
faculty working on marine GIS, cartographic visualization,
and remote sensing of snow and biota. Faculty leading
this research include Jones,
Kimerling,
Meyers, Nolin,
Rosenfeld,
Santelmann, White,
and Wright.
There are also strong linkages with the OSU COAS Marine Resource Management program
and the OSU Ecology, Evolution, and Conservation Biology (EBB) program.
Prospective students are invited to examine faculty specific
research activity through connections found in the Faculty
section of our website. Perusing the Student
Theses and Student
Publications sections provides evidence of specific
directions of research Geographic Information Science
